About this event
What is intermediate care?
Adults might have intermediate care if they have been in hospital and are medically fit but unable to cope at home. It involves having a short stay in a care home where support is available 24 hours a day, and people can access rehabilitative care to help them regain their independence.
Why are we having a focus group?
The contract for intermediate care beds in Sheffield is up for renewal. Commissioners have asked providers to answer 2 questions about involving people in their care as part of their bid. They would like to work with the public, patients and carers to:
- Come up with ‘model answers’ that can be used to mark the bids
- Hear views on their plans to involve people in the commissioning process
You don’t have to have used intermediate care to join us but if you or someone you care for has direct experience, we would particularly like to hear from you.
What is involved?
The Deputy Director of Operations at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will give you an overview of the commissioning plans and share the questions they would like your help with, we will then have a group discussion.
